Luke Bryan’s got the fans on his side.

The country megastar is nominated for his second Entertainer of the Year trophy at this Sunday’s ACM Awards in Las Vegas, and he reveals what winning the fan-voted award means to him.

“I base my career around what the fans tell me. If I played a song and the fans didn’t really react, then I didn’t play it anymore,” he says. “That’s how I’ve always done it. Winning fan-voted awards is all I need to validate what I’m doing in my career. I don’t have to have critics or anybody telling me if I’m doing something wrong or right. If the fans are showing up, that’s really all I go on.”

Luke returns to co-host the show with Blake Shelton Sunday, April 6 at 8/7c on CBS.
