When a third-grade girl shaves her head to show support for her 11-year-old best friend undergoing chemotherapy and she's kicked out of school for violating the dress code, I say the administrators have lost thier minds.
"She's my best friend," Kamryn said of her friend Delaney, who is battling neuroblastoma. "It felt like the right thing to do." The Colorado charter school, Caprock Aademy's board of directors, states the school has a detailed dress code and shaved heads are not allowed. Faced with this dilemma, the girls' moms took to social media - and they received a lot of feedback from parents who supported the young girl's decision. Even with the uproar it's caused, Kamryn said she doesn't regret her decision.
The headmaster of Caprock Academy now has decided Kamryn will be allowed back at school on Tuesday. The board of directors says they sometimes make exceptions to the dress code and will be meeting to discuss this particular situation.
