April is National Child Abuse Awareness month, and blue is the color. I have been doing child advocacy work for almost 9 years. It all started with a cold call to CPS, (that was the only child welfare agency I knew of at the time), which led me to be a part of Community Partners of El Paso. I spoke openly about my history with abuse at project C.H.A.N.C.E.'s annual child abuse awareness event back in 2017 or so. I joined Guardians of the Children almost 5 years ago, which is why I now ride a motorcycle. With them I have volunteered at numerous organizations like CPS, Center Against Sexual and Family Violence, and the Sarah McKnight Transitional Living Center from the YWCA. I recently worked with the Child Crisis Center of El Paso. While blue is not my favorite color, it is the one that means the most to me. (In case you're wondering, my favorite color is black. 2nd favorite is Barbie pink).
