Have you ever seen bikers do this when they cross paths? Bikers have a lot of hand signals to communicate with each other and with traffic, but this one is my favorite. The 2 fingers facing down symbolize the two wheels of the motorcycle staying down on the road, because if they're facing any other way it probably means the rider is in some serious trouble! It's basically biker to biker wishing each other a safe ride. I love this symbol because it makes me feel more connected other riders, no matter what kind of bike they have. I don't always get the sign back, but that's okay! It could be they were watching out for something on the road in front of them, (smart), don't know about this salute, or just don't want to do it, which is perfectly fine too. Only time I don't give it back is when I have to keep my hands on the clutch or throttle and physically can't take my hands off the handlebars, so I just give a big nod. Just another cool bit of biker business.
