2020 Sun City CRIT

Visit El Paso, an operating division of Destination El Paso, is excited to announce that El Paso will kick off the 2020 USA CRITS racing season for the second year in a row. The 2020 Sun City CRIT will take place in downtown El Paso on Saturday, March 28, 2020. The free and open to the public event will bring the energy and excitement of world-class cycling to downtown El Paso. The Sun City CRIT is the first of a 10-race season spanning March through September that showcases some of the world’s best athletes racing bikes across the United States. Each event is televised live and on demand on USACRITS.TV and collectively features $200,000 in prize money equally for both men and women.

The Sun City CRIT will have bike races and activities for all ages and ability levels from kids to professionals throughout the day on Saturday March 28th, a detailed schedule is available at visitelpaso.com/crits.

Friends and families will cheer on the kids as they frantically pedal their Big Wheels, tricycles, and two-wheelers towards the finish line. All children between the ages of 3 and 10 are invited to participate in this event. To participate, children need their own bike, helmet and the permission of a parent or guardian. Early registration will be held at Podium Finish, 921 Texas St. on March 27th. Day of registration will also be available. Registration is $5 per child and all proceeds will benefit the El Paso Children’s Hospital.

Adults will also have the opportunity to participate in the fun when they register for the All-Star Relay Race. The race will be held on March 28th at 6:30 pm. Each team of four is required to bring their own bikes and helmets and are encouraged to dress in their favorite 80’s themed costumes. The Sun City Crit 5k and 1-mile run will also be held on March 28th. To register in advance please visit https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/ElPaso/SunCityCrit5Krun. Entry fee is $20 for both 5k and 1-mile run. Participants have the option to run one or both races. The top 20 male and female runners of the 5k will be seeded at the front of the 1-mile race start line. A $250 prize will be awarded to the male and female winners of the 1-mile run.

Spectators are encouraged to visit downtown El Paso on March 28th. Activities will be on going throughout the day. Kids fun zone, food, beer tent, live music and more will be on site
