Cruz Blocks Biden Ambassador Nominations Because Of Russia Pipeline

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz is singlehandedly delaying dozens of Biden administration nominees, mostly in the State Department. The Texas Republican is holding up confirmations of ambassador nominees for India, France, and other nations.

Cruz says he's taking the action to retaliate for Biden's decision to drop U.S. opposition to a Russian oil pipeline to Germany. Democrats and White House officials say Cruz's actions are harmful to national security, but Cruz says giving Vladimir Putin a multibillion-dollar pipeline is more dangerous.
