Cody Johnson revealed the release date of his highly-anticipated duet with Carrie Underwood on Tuesday (September 17).

Johnson said he’s “thrilled to announce that ‘I’m Gonna Love You’ is coming out next Friday, 9/27,” he wrote in his caption on Instagram. “Thank you [Carrie Underwood] for joining me on this one and making it so special. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it.”

“I’m Gonna Love You” will arrive as Johnson prepares to release the deluxe edition of his latest full-length studio album, Leather. Johnson confirmed the deluxe album during his performance earlier this year at the 2024 Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. He did not confirm the release date at that time; however, he said he aims to release the album by the end of the year.

Leather included collaborations with Jelly Roll and Brooks & Dunn, in addition to hit singles “Dirt Cheap,” “The Painter” and more. The 12-track project followed Human The Double Album in 2021 and Ain’t Nothin’ To It in 2019. Most recently, Johnson released his live rendition of “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys,” live from the 2023 ACM Awards. The Texas-born country star is currently on “The Leather Tour.” See the list of remaining stops below.
