Amber Banda meets country star Meghan Patrick

This past Friday I got to hang out with Meghan Patrick for a few minutes before she opened for the Josh Abbott Band at Lowbrow Palace! Her Tour Manager was extremely helpful and a great introduction to the world of Meghan Patrick. Upon going upstairs, Meghan came out to greet us in the hall with some fabulous oversized aviator style glasses. Despite having to wake up at 2am for her flight, she looked amazing and ready to rock. Her first comments to us were "It's hot as SH.." lol. She's from Canada so yes, this heat can be pretty brutal. She told us a story about how in Nashville, her husband Mitchell Tenpenny, woke her up super excited for the snow. I asked her, "Snow? What is that?" I thanked her for her role in helping females in male-dominated industries feel more understood.

Her music is powerful, raw, sometimes in your face and a whole lotta fun. She opened the show with her song, "Red Roses and Red Flags." I knew she played both acoustic guitar and electric as well as the banjo, but to my surprise busted out with the harmonica as well during her performance. She's an amazing performer and if you had the chance to see her you got a real treat. If not, next time you have a chance, go see her. She'll help you heal from a broken heart, give you strength and a voice through her music, and even make you dance.
