Thursday June 6th I did my first ever Zoom interview with country star Wade Bowen. Born and raised Texan, Wade Bowen really made a name for himself through Texas Country. I met him outside in his tour bus while he and his tour manager watched basketball. He had just gotten done playing a few concerts with Miranda Lambert and would soon be on his way to play in Cabo for "Boots on the Beach." He was extremely open and welcome. We started off talking about the gift I brought him, some Mexican candy. We talked about him having been through El Paso a few times before, the Dallas Cowboys, golf, Chicos Tacos, his traveling life style and as usual, the non-profit "Guardians of the Children" that I am a part of. For fun, I tested his Spanish. I warned him not to eat the candy before he went on stage, may make his throat scratchy!
Through his Zoom interview and in meeting him in person, he solidified the fact that no matter how well-known and talented you are, country stars are still some of the most humble, generous and welcoming people in the industry. I'm grateful to have met him and look forward to seeing him again!
