Father's Day is this Sunday and with that comes many social media posts about wishing moms who pull double duty a Happy Father's Day as well. Personally, I don't like it and it's frustrating. Father's day is to celebrate the good dads in the world. Moms have a day, it's called Mother's Day. I don't see many "Happy Mother's Day' posts for those single dads on Mother's Day, either. Whether a person is a single mom or their kid's father is non-existent, or it's two moms raising their children, their day is still Mother's Day.
Don't get me wrong, I was raised by a single mom, didn't really know my dad, and was a single mom for a couple of years myself, but I still believe that this day should focus on Fathers only. What are your thoughts? Hit me up at my socials or use the free iHeart app's "talk back feature."
Oh and while we're at it, no, fur babies do NOT count.
