The EmpOURment Project

The Center Against Sexual & Family Violence used to be called The Battered Women's Shelter, but it has since evolved to be much more than that. One of the programs offered by them is the EmpOURment Program which is focused on PREVENTION of abuse. This program provides a lot of education, especially for teens and children, on what a healthy relationship looks like, red flags, and what to do in certain situations that seem like they may become abusive. Tune in to learn more about how you can get Anabel Castorena, Primary Prevention Program Facilitator, to come talk at your school, organization, event, etc. I also spoke with Marissa Delgado, Primary Prevention Program Coordinator, about other services offered by the CASFV including rape kits, therapy for children and adults, (no matter how long ago the assault was), and how they are offered to men, women and children.
