Today is National Whataburger Day! The first Whataburger was opened August 8th, 1950 in Corpus Christi TX. The brand is celebrating it's 74th anniversary and in honor of that, the El Paso Chamber is excited to announce that the star on the Franklin Mountain will be lit up in orange and white. Whataburger will also be giving free meals to the YWCA's Sarah McKnight Transitional Living Center, who support women who are at risk of being homeless.
You can also snag a free orange birthday cake shake today at a participating Whataburger if you currently have the Whataburger app! (Don't forget the Whataburger app came in clutch during the hurricane-caused power outages in Houston. People were using the app to see which Whataburger locations had power in the city. I don't see In & Out doing that.....) El Paso has at least 20 Whataburger locations throughout the city so make sure you go into your local Whataburger and celebrate!
