Activity; Any Little Bit Counts!

Prior to radio I was a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and certified nutritionist. This meant that I was usually pretty active, it was just the nature of my job! Switch to radio and while some of the job involves a lot of movement, a lot of the day to day stuff does not. I've made a post on here before about some of the bands and movements I do in my office while I'm working on my laptop, but I also have a mini routine during my on-air shift! My on-air shift is Monday-Friday between 3-7pm, and in between each hour I use the equipment pictured below.

The pink straps go around my ankles so I can do movements for my glutes, and the band with handles I use for upper body. I personally want to improve my booty shape and shoulder definition so in between each hour I do 1 set of 15 repetitions per move. For example, I lie on my side and use the pink band to lift my leg to work my side glute, (15 each leg), then stand up and step on the resistance band to pull upwards for my shoulders (1 set of 15).

Not only do this help me re-focus by taking a short activity break, it also helps send blood to the areas where I personally want to work on and increases my overall activity for the day!

Now you don't need any equipment at all or have to want to "target" any specific area of your body. The point with this post is to let you know that even though an activity may seem like something rather small, it adds up! You can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes each hour to do whatever; air squats, pushups, arm circles, etc, and improve your overall physical and mental health and re-focus.

What do you think of this method? Do you struggle with being inactive at work? Let me know! Find me on social media or use the free iHeart app's Talk-Back feature and tell me what you think.
