I remember trick-or-treating with my cousin once when we were about 13/14 years old and an elderly woman answered the door and asked us "You two are a little old to be trick-or-treating, no?" It took everything in me to not ask this ancient woman, "you're a little too old to be living, no?" My cousin and I were shocked. The thought hadn't even crossed my mind until this woman said this, as we were enjoying the holiday as much as the next child. That was the last year I went trick-or-treating. Looking back, I feel like that woman played a part in cutting out the magic of childhood.
When I asked if there should be an age limit on trick-or-treating, a majority of you said no, and a few people added in "just don't be "a-holes about it," (or anything for that matter, right)? I personally don't think there is an age limit on trick-or-treating, and I agree, just don't be an a-hole about it. Dress up, be polite, say "trick-or-treat," use your manners, and have fun. In this economy I wouldn't blame grown adults coming to my house for some free dessert haha.
What do you think? Should there be an age limit on trick-or-treating and if so, what is it? Let me know on my social media at amber_banda915 on Instagram or Amber Banda on Facebook, or 963 KHEY Country on IG or Facebook.
