Show us your creative costumes! Here's some of mine.

This year people are getting creative with their costumes and not necessarily buying them "fully furnished" from the store. Understandable, seeing as how the prices on everything have risen so drastically over the past few years. Not only do you have costume and candy costs, you also have to start thinking about holiday expenditures. So getting creative is definitely the way to go! I'm going to share some of mine, and I want you to send me yours on our social media. Message us on the gram or Facebook at 963KHEY

This is me. I have the uncanny ability to not blink for a loooong time, and I was also holding a super creepy dolly when I used this costume to be a part of a popular local haunted house. The most expensive thing about this costume were the white contacts at $20. I found the nightgown at a 2nd hand store, straightened my hair, and put on pale makeup and darkened my undereye circles, ( I was a tired mom so I didn't need much help there lol). Makeup tip: To do "dead looking" makeup, put foundation on your lips and a little black or grey powder on the inside of your lips.

If you are a fan of the early 2000's cartoon Invader Zim, you'll recognize this character right away. His name is Gir, and he is my favorite cartoon character of all time, (I have a tattoo of him on my ankle). I was ecstatic when my oldest daughter wanted to be him years ago on Halloween!

This one is probably my favorite because I made it. It's a spider on a web, (I told my husband to wear black but the Cowboys were playing that day so he had to wear his jersey). We carried our youngest in a baby carrier everywhere so this was the perfect way to get her dressed up! The beanie/ spider head had 2 big black button eyes, (think Coraline), that freaked out an older lady when my baby moved her head. I just love this costume. To be honest, the fabric may be a little pricey now but if you happen to have materials like these you can get creative!

I want to see your creative costumes! Doesn't have to be from this year. Find our Instagram or Facebook at 963KHEY and send us your pics from now until Halloween and you may end up on our website. Let's show off your creative work with yourself and your kiddos!
