Sometimes babies just plan their entrance and don't care what your plans are. One ATL woman gave birth with the help of the McD's staff and her fiancé.
Alandria Worthy told 11 Alive, “I went into the bathroom and my water broke immediately. It was an experience because it happened so fast.”
She was in a metro Atlanta McDonald's on Fulton Industrial Boulevard when her baby decided it was time to see the world. Worthy was checked on by the General Manager Tunisia Woodward at the store when her fiance' alerted her that something may be wrong. “I opened, and she was on this toilet lying back, screaming. Then I knew to tell my crew; we’re having a baby today, " Woodward told 11 Alive.
The crew called 911 and her fiance stepped in to help catch the baby as worthy was stuck on the toilet giving birth. Less than 15 minutes and three pushes later, their daughter, Nandi Ariyah Moremi Phillips, was born and everyone was healthy and happy.
The McD's staff nicknamed Nandi "Little Nugget". Deandre Phillips (the Dad) said, “She’s definitely a nugget. My parents loved the name, too. We were like, OK, it fits her. My little nugget.”
Congrats to the new little fam. The baby is adorable.
The Store owner awarded employees a $250 gift card for their help in the situation. They said they're going to spend it all on the new little baby "nugget".
