Randoms-Two Hours a Week of this is Good for Body & Mind, Nike's new Hit

This is awesome …The U.S. Women’s Soccer Team is currently kicking butt in the Women’s World Cup in France, and many young soccer players and fans are wearing the jerseys of their favorite players likeAlex Morgan,Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe. But it’s not just girls wearing the jerseys of their women’s soccer heroes. Seems now a lot of boys are wearing the shirts too.

"It's not a coincidence that Nike now sells a U.S. women's team shirt in men's and boys' sizes, and I see men and boys wearing them all the time, often with a women's player's name on the back," said soccer journalist andSports Illustrated senior writer Grant Wahl. "That never used to happen much," he said. (Today)

Vegans at the BBQ …According to a new survey, 46% of respondents say they panic when they find out a vegan plans on attending their BBQ. 71% said they hope their guests with dietary restrictions will be fine with carrots and celery sticks and “get by” with what is already offered at a BBQ. Seems vegans and those following other diets know this … because 57% of guests with dietary restrictions say they have brought their own food to a BBQ or other family gathering. (SWNS)

Worth the risk? …As you’ve probably heard, 11 Americans have died recently while vacationing in the Dominican Republic. You’d probably think that kind of news would keep people from traveling to the country until they figure out the cause of these mysterious deaths. Well, it seems that not everyone is deterred. Airfare prices have dropped dramatically since news of the deaths have made headlines, and it seems lots of people are taking advantage of the lower prices and booking trips to the Caribbean country. High expectations …According to a new survey, the average Gen Z college grad expects to make $58,000 one year out of college. But the national median salary for recent grads with bachelor’s degrees with 0-5 years of work experience is actually $47,000.

And this is interesting … While Millennials are all about work-life balance and put more stock in things like flex time, fun work environments and unlimited vacation time, Gen Z is all about the money. According to the Gen Z survey respondents, the number one reason they’re going to college is “to make more money in my future.” When it comes to work, Gen Z is more interested in competitive salaries and good benefits than the flexible work environment that Millennials seek. Take a hike …A new study has found that spending at least two hours a week in nature is essential for your health and well-being. Researchers at the University of Exeter found that people who spend at least two hours per week in nature are significantly more likely to report better physical and mental health than those who don’t spend any time in nature. And according to researchers, it doesn’t matter if it’s two hours at once or spread out over shorter visits during the week. (Science Daily)
